As a dynamic and rapidly expanding company, we’re looking for talented and driven individuals to help grow and improve our hardware product range, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional quality to our customers. In this role, reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key part in the design and development of our products, with a focus on product design, manufacturability, packaging solutions, production jig design, and the physical user experience with Sensoteq products.

The Role
Lead product development from a mechanical design discipline.
Design, develop and maintain Sensoteq product design features and branding.
Design components using cost-appropriate manufacturing techniques, e.g. CNC machining, injection moulding, casting, sheet metal fabrication, rapid prototyping etc.
Design for Manufacture and Design for Service on the product assemblies for ease of build and use.
Maintain drawing control and release procedures, including change management.
Liaise with other departments to ensure conformance to company requirements and regulatory standards.
Responsible for product validation and test cascades to enable robust design specifications.
Support process creation and validation as part of the design and development process.
Conduct and contribute to design reviews, following design requirements and specifications.
Prepare and deliver test reports based on the information gathered both internally and externally.
Reporting of issues/non-conformances clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.
Perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective and preventative action.
Provide input to other teams and tasks where necessary.
What You Will Need
Experience designing industrial/commercial products in plastic and metal.
2 – 3 years’ experience in a Mechanical design role.
Knowledge of key engineering principles such as material selection, mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, assembly techniques and manufacturing processes.
Experience of engagement with suppliers/customers to respond to technical queries or solve problems.
Experience in producing 2D drawings for production manufacture.
BEng / BSC / MSC in engineering or equivalent
Must have the right-to-work in the UK
Essential Skills
Working knowledge of a CAD package. (e.g. OnShape, Solidworks, SolidEdge, Catia, etc)
Clear and concise communication skills both to teams and management.
Strong teamwork ability and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to promote the company culture and values.
Desirable
4–5 years of experience in a design or similar role.
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of agile development processes.
Understanding of global compliance testing requirements.
Experience in quality control and/or version control.
Experience working within a regulated industry.
Experience with developing systems under ISO 9001.
